H.3251 An Act regarding the pediatric palliative care program

This legislation amends Section 24K of Chapter 111 of the General Laws by striking the words “subject to appropriation” and mandating that all eligible children have access to services that assist eligible children with a life-limiting illness and their families or guardians, to achieve an improved quality of life and to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs experienced during the course of illness, death and bereavement. The department of public health would report caseload information and spending projections quarterly to the House and Senate Ways and Means Committees.
